Australian Plant Society - Coffs Harbour Group

About Us

History

The Society for Growing Australian Plants, now called Australian Plant Society, was formed in Victoria in 1958, this was quickly followed by the NSW Society, and the first regional group was Coffs Harbour, formed in 1959.
This group flourished for about 25 years, even flying in flowers from distant groups for flower shows, but the group closed in the early eighties.

When John Wrigley retired to Coffs Harbour, he decided it was time to re-form the local group and a meeting was held in May 1994. Forty members joined the Coffs Harbour group & membership has continued to grow.

Coffs Harbour group is still attracting new members & current numbers exceed 100.
